Reel in Bass Variety: Trolling, Live Bait, and Crankbait Success!

Non-stop bites all day long! Summer fishing at Buchanan Dam TX was in full swing as I took Mario out for a Half Day Trip with Reel Texas Fishing Tours. We hit the water in the early morning, greeted by partly cloudy skies that promised good conditions for our adventure. The dam area was bustling with activity, and I was eager to show Mario why this spot is known for some of the best bass fishing in Texas.

With our gear rigged and ready, we started off trolling near the dam structure. This technique proved effective right away, as we landed a nice 11-inch Florida Bass within the first hour. As the day progressed, we switched things up, trying our hand at live bait fishing. This method paid off when Mario hooked into a hefty 17-inch Largemouth Bass - definitely a highlight of our trip. We rounded out our approach with some crankbait casting, which brought in a few Smallmouth Bass to add to our species count. Throughout the day, we kept moving and adjusting our tactics, making the most of the partly cloudy conditions that seemed to keep the fish active. We wrapped up the trip with smiles all around, having experienced some of the best that Buchanan Dam has to offer.
